ART ATTACK

We had three days, 52 students and open possibilities to do art and experiential learning with 11- 12 year old Nepali children in H.S.S Dullav Government school in Gyampesal.

Class room was small and 52 students was too much at one time to do art, so we divided the class in two groups. First group had ART ATTACK 8.00 - 10.00 am and second group 2.00 - 4.00pm, all together we spend 6 hours with each group. So much happened during those hours....!! Those six hours were among the best hours here in Nepal!!!

We changed the tables to half circle, started and ended the day in circle outside talking which seemed to be something out of ordinary for both to students and to teachers. Using different team building activities, energizers and reviewing methods we managed to make art work even more effective to the youngsters... not to mention  ourselves!

Students had possibility to test different materials and methods for the first time in their school history. Those children haven´t never had any art lessons or any kind of creative lessons where they have opportunity to develop themselves and not only try to memorize new information.

We were so happy to be able to do this short project in the school that we decided to renew ART ATTACK as many times as possible during our remaining time here in Nepal. Zelda will go back to Austria for one month and will come back at the end of January. During February we will go to the schools and create art/experiential learning programs for C4C longer training based on our experiences in the schools.

Already during our work teachers and principals were happy about the result what we accomplished with student and invited us to stay longer or at least to come back to work with other groups in the future. We were also invited to work in Evergreen boarding school.
Everyone was interested of what we are doing
ART ATTACK  will continue!!
